DEPARTMENT OF MUSIC AND VISUAL ARTS - NORMAN ACADEMY
“The Merit of Honor and High Merit of the new music and visual arts department, entitled Meritum Honoris et Magni Meriti, present in all the academic sessions of the Norman Academy, is awarded to the greatest exponents with specializations in the musical and artistic fields, ranging from composition to theater, from orchestral direction to painting, from cinema to literature to contribute to the dissemination of serious music, cultured music, and to the patriotic recognition of our interpreters and non plus ultra enthusiasts, totally made in Italy; young rising stars and award-winning artists who have already been praised on all continents, our export pride, who compete and give us prestige in competitions abroad, on a par with athletes at world level, carrying our flag, the Italian flag to victory, and confirming the particularly fruitful Italian medal collection, a mark of excellence of our culture, lavished and highly appreciated in the most prestigious theaters and events in the world. A return to the origins, in this purely media-based historical period in which Music and Art are contravening and facing a commercial direction of pure figurative commodification, a real crime, rather than advocating the Virtus of the sacred arts, the only glue of human and divine values that cannot be manipulated and of immortal beauty”.
